On November 11, 2021, in order to give full play to the advantages and specialties of universities in Chongqing, form horizontal synergy among peers, and create co-built and shared teaching resources, the discussion of Virtual Teaching and Research Room of Civil Engineering Materials of Universities in Chongqing and the launching meeting of Co-construction and Sharing of Teaching resources of Civil Engineering Materials was successfully held by online video meeting organized by the Building Materials Department of Chongqing University. The meeting was chaired by Professor Wang Chong of Chongqing University.
Two main topics were discussed in the meeting: 1) The necessity and preparation plan of establishing the Virtual Teaching and Research Section of Civil Engineering Materials of universities in Chongqing and 2) The launching of Co-construction and Sharing of teaching resources of Civil Engineering Materials of universities in Chongqing.
At the beginning, Prof Chong Wang said that up to now, the teaching cooperation of Civil Engineering Material course in Chongqing has lasted nearly 10 years, which fully implemented the guidelines from Ministry of Education of constructing the virtual teaching and research section, adhered to the construction principle of cultivating people through moral education, collaborative sharing and exploring different possibilities, and established the virtual teaching and research section across different majors and universities. In general, the concept of interconnectivity and common development and shared growth has been reflected in the course teaching. Hopefully the conference could gather consensus from various parties, jointly build a good virtual teaching and research section, and vigorously popularize the experience and achievements of common development and shared growth to the western region and representative universities in China, so as to create a new benchmark of teaching in the western region.
The participants made speeches on the operation of the virtual teaching and research section, and unanimously recommended Teacher Fang Liu from Chongqing University to take charge of the work related to the virtual teaching and research section of Civil Engineering Materials.
The conference also discussed the organizational structure, implementation steps, operation guarantee, and common development and shared growth of curriculum teaching resources. The division of work was carried out aiming at the establishment of sample bank, case bank, paper bank, ideological and political material bank, the development of young teachers’ lecture competition, and the writing of educational reform papers.
More than 20 teachers attended the online meeting, including Prof Yingjun Mei, assistant dean of the institute of materials of Chongqing Jiaotong University, Prof Ruiyan Wang, dean assistant of the institute of materials of Chongqing Jiaotong University, Prof Ercong Meng from Southwest University, Prof Zhongwen Ou from PLA Army Logistics Academy, Associate Prof Xianfeng Liu from Chongqing University of Science and Technology, Associate Prof Qian Huang from Yangtze Normal University, Teacher Peiling Liu from Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences and Zhiyong Wang from Chongqing Open Univeristy.
