On the morning of February 22, 2022, "Chongqing University-Panzhihua Industrial Solid Waste Comprehensive Utilization Joint R&D Platform Construction Seminar" was held in the conference hall on the 4th floor of Days Hotel Keyuan.

Secretary-General Xu Jun of the Secretariat of Chongqing University Education Foundation delivered a welcome speech, warmly welcomed the leaders of Panzhihua City and representatives of enterprises, and introduced the basic situation of Chongqing University and the historical origin of Chongqing University and Panzhihua City, hoping to further deepen cooperation and better solve technical problems for enterprises.

Zhu Haibo, chairman of Panzhihua Runze Building Materials Co., Ltd., introduced the background of the joint R&D platform. He said that the establishment of a joint R&D platform will be more conducive to attracting talents to settle in the Panzhihua Vanadium and Titanium High-tech Industrial Development Zone, helping to solve the problem of "three wastes", developing a circular economy and promoting green development. As an outstanding alumnus of the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Chongqing University, Zhu Haibo thanked his alma mater for his training and teachers of the School of Materials for their care and help. On behalf of Runze Building Materials Co., Ltd., he expressed that he would continue to donate to his alma mater.

The participants also shared and discussed issues such as the construction of the joint R&D platform and the layout of existing resources. The two sides agreed that it is necessary to find the right position, seize the opportunity, and promote this work as soon as possible.

The meeting also made a detailed discussion on the nature of the joint R&D platform, the transformation of achievements, and the participation mode. A working group was established at the meeting, which will further promote the construction of the platform, so as to promote the utilization of solid waste and improve the environment and economic benefits.
