The courses

Main Research areas

My research interest focuses on the phase transformation and its related phenomena during thermal processing and deformation in metals, by means of multi-scale advanced material characterization technology and thermal and dynamic calculations methods, guided by the principles of physical metallurgy. The purpose is to gain a fully understanding of the tuning mechanism in both composition and micro/nano structure in metastable/stable phase, with features of inhomogeneous, heterogeneous interface, by which pave efficient theory and strategy for new- generation high-performance materials design. The mainly involved materials are:

1. Advanced high-performance steel, martensitic tool steel, wear-resistant steel, hot-pressing steel, duplex stainless steel, etc.

2. Co-free Cemented Carbide

3. High-entropy alloy

4. 3D-printing titanium alloy

Research projects

He has been acted as principle investigator/ main participant involved in several Sweden, European projects, such as supported by VINNOVA, EIT Raw Materials, Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (SSF), Jernkontoret, as well as NSFC projects. He applies the acquired physical insights to design new alloys with exceptional properties in collaboration with leading industries, such as Sandvik, SSAB, Uddeholm AB, OUTO KUMPU, Thermo-Calc AB, SWERIM.
