To fully implement Jinping Xi Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the guiding principles of the 19th National Congress of the CPC, Carry forward the fine teaching style of moral education and teaching, further promote the teaching ability and professional level of young teachers, on the morning of July 9, 2021, College of Materials Science and Engineering organized the Concluding Meeting and Teaching experience Sharing Meeting for 2021 Basic Teaching Skills Competition for Young Teachers in Room 509, main teaching building, Zone A, Chongqing University. Lu Huang, director of the Teaching Development Center, and Xiaoxu Huang, dean of the College of Materials Science and Engineering attended the concluding meeting. School supervisors, department heads, representatives of young teachers and academic administrators attended the meeting. The conference was divided into two stages, the first is the Concluding and Awarding Meeting for Basic Teaching Skills Competition for Young Teachers, the second stage invited Prof Xiaoqin Peng from Building Materials Engineering Department to share teaching experience for young teachers, the meeting was presided over by the deputy dean Zejun Chen who was in charge of teaching.
Zejun Chen firstly introduced the relevant situation of Basic Teaching Skills Competition for Young Teachers, he pointed out that with the basic task of cultivating people through moral education, the focus of strengthening the construction of teachers' ethics, training young teachers' basic teaching skills, and the aim of promoting the knowledge and ability and training through competition, this competition had motivated young teachers to give impressive performances, and the 2021 Basic Teaching Skills Competition for Young Teachers was completed successfully.
After that, Xiaoxu Huang read out the list of award-winning teachers. Lu Huang and Xiaoxu Huang presented the certificates to the award-winning teachers and expressed warm congratulations to them.
On behalf of the winning teachers, Teacher Guang Han shared his personal growth and teaching experience in the competition. He said that he was deeply impressed by the preparation and orderly proceeded contest, the teachers’ topic selection and wonderful comments from judges. He felt very honored to participate in the competition in the whole university on behalf of the School, and owe his growth to the hard cultivation from the Teaching Development Center for College Teachers and the School, as well as the patient guidance and help from the seniors. In terms of teaching, he said teachers should always keep passion for teaching, actively listen to students' feedback and strive to improve teaching and scientific research simultaneously.
Menghan Wang fromthe Supervision Group introduced the status in class of the second semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. She emphasized the existing problems and hoped that the teachers of the college could improve according to the problems and keep learning advanced teaching concepts and methods.
Lu Huang gave a keynote speech of comprehensive and detailed introduction of the Teaching Development Center, which covers teaching training, teaching innovation, teaching academic and support services, so that teachers have a comprehensive understanding of Teaching Development Center.
Xiaoqin Peng shared her teaching experience comprehensively from her own learning and work experience. She said that the investment in teaching can also bring great honor and harvest, and encouraged teachers to actively participate in curriculum construction, textbook construction and teaching reform projects. She suggested young teachers to strengthen classroom management, promote interaction and communication with students, sincerely care for students, and balance life and work.
Xiaoxu Huang made a summary speech, he stressed that young teachers should strengthen their understanding and investment in teaching and deepen their understanding of teaching content in the face of the seriousness of the college's professional construction and teaching. In the future, the College will strengthen the cooperation with the Teachers' Teaching Development Center to jointly help the college's professional construction and discipline construction to a higher level.
