Fusheng Pan said that two basic paths are now available to achieve the “double carbon” goal, one is energy conservation and emission reduction, and the other is the energy structure transition. Among them, the most critical and sustainable one is the energy structure transition, which is actually the use of new and clean energies.

He believes that the clean energy is mainly concentrated on the renewable energy such as the photovoltaic and wind power. Nevertheless, owing to the bottlenecks in energy storage and transportation, the utilization rate of photovoltaic and wind power in China is not high yet.

Therefore, his proposal emphasized that our country should strengthen the development of energy storage technology and energy storage equipment. Furthermore, he believed that it is essential to establish the national platform, and make use of the advantages of the national system to establish the largest international research platform for new energy storage materials and equipments. Because with the platform, talents can be gathered, and with the platform, we can fight together.
